Soil fertility is the basis of every profitable crop. Before applying any nutritional or biostimulant program, knowing precisely what your soil contains and what it needs prevents unnecessary expenses and blind decisions.

Nano Agro offers a soil analysis and fertility recommendations service based on the Albrecht system of fertility management, in partnership with a specialized laboratory in the United States. The method evaluates cation exchange capacity, pH, organic matter, base saturation (calcium, magnesium, potassium, sodium), and trace elements to build a nutritional balance tailored to your crop and production goals.
Unlike a conventional analysis that only reports values, you receive specific recommendations for amendments and fertilization, adapted to your plot's history, your type of operation (organic or conventional), and the crop you are going to plant.
How it works
You take the samples; we handle all the logistics and the laboratory.
- Samples can be taken any time of year, as long as the field isn't under prolonged drought.
- Do not sample if nitrogen was applied in the last 30 days.
- Do not sample if sulfur was applied in the last six months.
- If it's been over two years since the last sampling, sample as soon as conditions allow.
Prepare a simple field map. Divide the land into areas that share the same soil color, slope, texture, drainage and crop history. Each area should have the same intended crop.
- In the first year, each sampled area should not exceed 8–9 hectares (20 acres), even if the soil looks uniform.
- Give each area a clear ID (up to 8 characters). Use permanent boundaries like roads, ditches and fences as reference.
- Sample separately any area with taller/shorter plants, a different weed pattern, or different yields.
- Avoid or sample separately: eroded slopes, low areas, terraces, old roads and fence lines, manure/urine/burn piles, areas near barns or structures, and water-stressed zones. Keep at least 90 m from gravel/lime roads and 6 m from fences or the field edge.
- Use a soil probe or a clean shovel. The probe gives the best result.
- Sample at a depth of 16–18 cm (6½–7 in). For no-till, orchards, vineyards, pasture and turf, sample at 10 cm (4 in).
- Take at least 5 cores per composite sample in small areas. In large areas, one core per 1–2 hectares.
- Combine all cores from the same area in a single bag and mix well so the sample represents the whole area.
- One cup of soil per sample is enough. You may remove visible roots or leaves, careful not to remove soil with them.
- Use a new, never-used plastic bag (a zip-loc works). Do not use paper bags, bread bags, or buckets with prior use — contamination risk.
- Label each bag with your name or farm name, lot number and area, matching your map.
- Ink smears in transit: cover writing with clear tape or masking tape. Do not use staples.
- Samples can be sent moist or dry. For moist, use a sealed plastic bag. To dry, spread the soil on wax paper and air- or sun-dry it. Never dry the sample in an oven.
⚠ Important: correct packing is mandatory. Improper packing can cause samples to be seized and destroyed at U.S. customs.
- Each individual sample goes in a good-quality plastic bag, sealed to prevent leaks.
- All individual bags go together inside one large plastic bag, also sealed.
- The large bag goes inside the shipping box, snug so samples can't shift during transport.
- The box must be sturdy, leak-proof, and sealed with plenty of tape on all six sides.
- Include the completed data worksheet for each sample inside the box.
The more complete this information, the more accurate the recommendation. Include it with every set of samples:
- ID: your name or farm name, lot number and area of each sample.
- Operation type: organic or conventional. Essential to state.
- Previous crop: last crop and yield obtained.
- Next crop: upcoming crop and target yield, if known.
- Liming: if applied in the last 3 years (amount, type, month/season and year).
- Fertilizers: materials you prefer or have available (formulas, rock phosphate, manure type).
- Goals: short- or long-term objectives for the field.
